About Us

Aldershot Garrison Pre-School Settings have been providing high quality care to military and civilian families in the Aldershot and Fleet areas for more than 30 years!

Our Curriculum

Children at Aldershot Garrison Pre-School Settings are encouraged to learn through play.

We follow the Government statutory framework , the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth up to 5 years of age.

The principles, which guide the work of our Early Years Professionals, are grouped into four themes:

  • A unique child – every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured
  • Positive Relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person
  • Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning
  • Learning and Development – children develop and learn in different ways and at different times; all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
There are three prime areas of learning  in which our Early Years Professionals support children to learn and develop. These are:
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
Plus four specific areas of learning, these are:
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
Each child has their own key person to enable them to feel reassured, safe and cared for within our settings. This person also keeps a detailed Learning Journal of the child’s progress during their time with us. These records are available to be viewed and discussed at any time by parents, who are always encouraged to add details of their child’s experiences from outside the nursery.

Working in Partnership with Parents

It’s important that as parents and carers, you know that your little one is in safe hands when leaving them with us. We implement a key person system to do just that. By introducing our parents and carers to their child's key person and involving them from the very beginning all the way through to graduation, enables us to build a positive relationship that is centred around the child.

We believe a strong partnership with our parents is important because it provides a level of consistency between the home and learning environment. We also send out regular communication to our parents and carers to inform them of what their child has been up to when at Pre-School or Nursery along with handy tip and tricks to extend their learning at home.

Great parent partnership helps the child to feel safe and secure while in the setting, especially if they see that their parents feel comfortable there.
